The Girls started school this week at San Jose Obrero which is a small Spanish public school in Pozuelo. God in His miraculous ways, allowed them to love it! They have no idea what the kids are saying but they are having a wonderful time. We drop them off at school at 9am and they come home for lunch from 12:30 till 2:30 and then return for the last hour and a half and come home at 4pm. It has been so fun to have the girls at home for our big family Spanish meal in the middle of the day. Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace upon our family!

(In this picture you can see the school building in the background--this was as close as they would let me get!)

Trip to the Big City!

We declared yesterday a Sabbath! It was the first day we decided that we would rest, focus just on having fun as a family and not worry about getting any "thing" done. We decided a trip to Old Madrid would be just what we needed...
The heart of Madrid is only 6 miles from where we are living in Pozuelo but we spent over 2 hours in the car there and back. I don't think I will try to drive in town on a weekday again! It will be the train for us from now on! All that said, we had a wonderful time exploring, resting, and having fun as a family.

Mae Mae's 7th Birthday!

Mae Mae had a great Birthday in Spain!

Early morning finding decorations and opening a few presents from sisters and mom and dad...

Check out my new Crocs!

The real party happened that night with Kate, Jim and Barbara joining us for the fiesta. Katie fixed Spicy Mac and Cheese with Green peas--Mae Mae's request, and also helped during the day making the cake.

Feliz cumpleanos a ti...

Retrio

This morning we met with the family and the real estate agent of the house that we really loved. Thank goodness for Barbara who translated for us! Looks like we will get the house as soon as we get approved for our eval (large rental deposit). After our meeting we celebrated at Retiro--Madrid's Central Park...

Fun Day of Rest

What a beautiful day! We are really glad it is the weekend! There was nothing we could do today business wise so we tried to enjoy the weekly open air market in Pozuelo. This evening we went to an English speaking church in Madrid and enjoyed being a part of the body in Spain.

If you look closely you can see the snow on the mountains in the distance. It truly was a magnificent day!

Playgrounds Without Lawsuits

Boy playgrounds sure are more fun without lawsuits--no offense to you lawyers out there! However, at the bottom there is a sign with the phone number to the local ambulance!

More Photos of the Journey

Here are some more photos from the trip over!

The past several days have been good! We have looked at several Chalets (apartments) and have found a couple we really like. We hope to be able to make a decision by the end of this weekend on a place.

We are Here!

We are here! We arrived early on a rainy Sunday morning March 1st to Madrid. All of the girls did fine and we are jumping right into all the things we need to get done. This morning we opened a bank account and are going this afternoon to look at two apartments. We are planning on updating this blog on a weekly basis and putting several pictures and few words to go along with them. I have attached some fun things below:
