Fun Day of Rest

What a beautiful day! We are really glad it is the weekend! There was nothing we could do today business wise so we tried to enjoy the weekly open air market in Pozuelo. This evening we went to an English speaking church in Madrid and enjoyed being a part of the body in Spain.

If you look closely you can see the snow on the mountains in the distance. It truly was a magnificent day!

Playgrounds Without Lawsuits

Boy playgrounds sure are more fun without lawsuits--no offense to you lawyers out there! However, at the bottom there is a sign with the phone number to the local ambulance!

More Photos of the Journey

Here are some more photos from the trip over!

The past several days have been good! We have looked at several Chalets (apartments) and have found a couple we really like. We hope to be able to make a decision by the end of this weekend on a place.

We are Here!

We are here! We arrived early on a rainy Sunday morning March 1st to Madrid. All of the girls did fine and we are jumping right into all the things we need to get done. This morning we opened a bank account and are going this afternoon to look at two apartments. We are planning on updating this blog on a weekly basis and putting several pictures and few words to go along with them. I have attached some fun things below:

Closing of a Wonderful Season

This past Friday marked my (Chase's) last day at Chattem. What a gift it has been to be a part of that family for the past 9 months--hard to believe it has been that long! As I told folks at the party they gave me Friday, my friends at Chattem have been a wonderful support to me through this hard season of waiting over the past year. God has really blessed me with wonderful relationships there that will last the rest of my life. Thanks to Gayle, Joan and Pancho especially who have shown patience and grace to me the past few months!

Meanwhile on the home front, not only did Friday mark the end of Chattem, but it also marked the end of our stay at Signal Mountain Baptist's missionary house. The truck pulled away today with our home which we hope to see again in 6 to 8 weeks in Madrid. Katie did a phenomenal job weeding out, packing and organizing the whole move single handed with 4 kids while I was at work. What an incredible gift of mercy and grace the Lord has given me in her!

A huge thanks as well to Signal Mountain Baptist who has been more than gracious to us as our 3 month stay in their "missionary house" turned in to over a year. I honestly don't think we would have been able to have made this part of our journey without their mission of shelter to those who are seeking to follow God's stirrings in their hearts.
